We love God centered worship and preaching, and believe it fuels community and outreach. Moving from the church we planted – Silklife Church in Macclesfield - in 2013 to join the leadership team here in Manchester is another great opportunity to share this vision.
In our spare time we enjoy reading, football, fitness and time with the family.
Dave and Jo Atkinson
Dave works in education and Jo is a physiotherapist. We have lived in Salford since 2001 and we were with this church for it’s first Sunday meeting in September of the same year. We really value being part of the church as a family. We believe it takes a community to raise a child and our kids think everyone in the church is either a friend or a potential friend. We’re really grateful for so many credible and positive role models for our children. This church has seen us at our best; our worst and everything in between and always held the door open for us to be the best we can be.
Since moving to Salford in 2007, we have loved being involved in Christ Central and all the church is doing in the cities of Salford and Manchester. If it’s not raining, you can often find us enjoying exploring the local countryside, and when it is raining we are usually cooking (and eating) or playing games. We also love getting to know new people so do say hello if we haven’t met you already :)
I love living in the North West and moved to Manchester in 1995 to be involved in planting new churches in the region.
Alongside my management job in software, I feel privileged to be part of the local Christ Central community and love being involved in church planting both in the UK and internationally.
I enjoy spending time with our family and particularly enjoy walks that involve tea shops.
Mark Whittington - Freedom Central Manager
I have loved living in Manchester area for the last 12 years - is a great place to live with so much happening, especially with so much live music to see.
It's great being able to help people that are struggling with debt, as well as being the Salford Central Foodbank Manager.
I am married with 2 kids and enjoy cooking and running with Swinton Running Club.
Esther Chandler - Christ Central Administrator
When we moved here in 2007, I was excited to find out what God had planned for me here in Salford. I didn’t know it would involve a career change, helping to kick start social action projects, and getting stuck into looking after and being looked after by a great bunch of people, but I’m glad it did! Now I’m looking forward to what’s next...
